What are TLDs (Top- Level Domains) And SLD(Second-Level Domain)

A Top-level domain (TLD), or domain extension, is the part of the domain name which comes after the dot example(yourname.com). The Common Domain extensions are .Com , .ORG , .Net , .Info , .Biz , .Mobi.

There are also some restricted top-level domains (rTLDs) ,like .AERO, .EDU, .MIL , .Museum and .PRO which requires registrants to represent that they belong to a certain community or a certain type of entity.

Country-code TLDs (ccTLDs) are for those websites and registrants of a particual geographic location , example .in(India), .uk(United Kingdom) and .us(united States) etc. Restrictions for ccTLDs vary by country.

The part of the domain name located to the left of the dot is called the second-level domain (SLD) name example (yourname.com).The second-level domain name is the "readable" part of the address and refers to the organization or entity behind the Internet address. Second-level domain names must be unique on the Internet and registered with an ICANN-accredited registrar. This can be Done by different registrar available on Internet or near to your location.
